QTranslate is a very useful and easy-to-use application which allows you to translate a simple word or an entire paragraph into 14 languages: English, Russian, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Hebrew. The program uses translate services on the Internet, and you can select which translation service will be used to translate your text: Google Translate Microsoft Translator, or Promt Mobile.
The program has two frames: in the upper frame you type the text to be translated; the lower frame will show the translation result. One of the program's important features is that it auto-detects the language of the typed text by default, so you just have to select the target language. Still, you can choose both the source and target language if you're so inclined. Other useful features included are: text to speech synthesis, which allows you to produce the sound both for the source and target text almost in any language; romanization, which allows you to represent with the Roman alphabet any text written in a different writing system; and spell checking.
QTranslate allows you to work with other applications; you can select a block of text and place the mouse pointer over it. After this, an icon next to the block of text will appear. If you click on the icon, a pop-up window will show the translation in the target language previously selected. You can also use another mouse mode, which shows the pop-up window with the translated text when placing the mouse on the block of text.
